Belais jewelry is highly collectible & sought after because of the quality of their work and their attention to detail. Owning one of their pieces is like having a piece of jewelry history! The name Belais became synonymous with white gold. As testament to their success many prominent jewelers of the time listed in their advertisements the enticement that they sold “18k Belais.” Their slogan was “Belais Made Means Well Made”Belais Manufacturing Co. was among the early manufacturers of white gold jewelry in the United States. During the late 19th and early 20th century they experimented with various alloys for white gold as a substitute for platinum in jewelry. There were restrictions placed on platinum because of the war so their formula was a high quality alternative that maintained the white metal look that was popular at the time. The formula in Belais’ patent was an 18 Karat white gold alloy composed of gold, zinc and nickel. Founder David Belais applied for a patent in 1918 and it was granted in 1920.This ring has one approx 4 ct synthetic pink sapphire gemstone 6 prong set in a custom white gold setting! Hand engraved detailing grace this ring and are the perfect accents in this Art Deco masterpiece!
