Here is a vintage / antique pin / brooch with a sterling silver frame and back - it's stamped PALESTINE (which dates it to before 1948 - this came from Jerusalem, which is now Israel) and 935 and BINYAMINOFF (silversmith Nissan Binyaminoff) - as you can see in the photo some of the letters have worn off on the back. The pin measures 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" and has animal and floral imagery and a border painted on what might be stone or tile - they look somewhat like nature images found on ancient mosaics or very old Bible texts. Small bits of the painting have chipped off in a number of places. The intricate silver border is unmarked - the silver is tarnished but I didn't try to clean it, to avoid any further damage to the pin and also because I know some people are sensitive to chemicals. Comes from a smoke- and pet-free home. Thanks!
