this is a 925 marked butterfly brooch/pin. has an oval stone mid body and is red. i will guess it is garnet but not sure. could be red glass. wings have marcasites. widest part which is top area is 2'' wide. approx 1'' high. pin back works but needs slight adjustment. some tarnishing back. do not know age of item, however, bought it from a woman in her 80s. weighs 8.8 grams.
