This very elegant, handmade 925 sterling silver crystal opal pin brooch is absolutely beautiful. This intricately designed antique pin features a very vibrant natural oval cabochon cut crystal opal, vividly glowing with all the beautiful colors of the rainbow. The unique bursts of orange and red radiates in this colorful gem. The gemstone was bezel set, by hand in a lovely pin mounting, with a decorative hand crafted design hand soldered around the head. The pin on the back is thick and strong and the handmade mechanism, which was first invented in the early 1900’s, is in perfect working order. Signs of hand workmanship can be seen on the pin, which makes this piece that much more special. This colorful antique pin brooch could easily become a most loved family heirloom.

This is a very unusual brooch and I think it’s from maybe the 30s or the 40s it is marked Sterling. It is handmade it used to have a gold wash. The stones are prong set and it is missing two of the original moonstone moon glow stones. I have one that’s loose and I put it in the head just to show you what it looks like.
