A beautiful antique Victorian 10k gold, cabochon garnet and pearl pendant or pin, dated to 1886. This stunning Victorian solid 10k yellow gold pendant pin has the most incredible bezel set 6.6 carat foiled back cabochon garnet at its center which glows the most intense raspberry-ruby red when it touches the light, the garnet surrounded by a halo of wonderful silvery white seed pearls, the edge with tiny linear decorations which catch the light beautifully. The reverse of the pendant has a large bail and also a pin along with an engraving in old Victorian script ‘6th November 1886’. The pendant tests for 10k gold. The pendant measures approximately 27mm x 13mm and is about 8mm deep. The garnet measures about 20mm x 7mm or about +/-6.6 carats. The pearls are about 2mm across. The pendant weighs approximately 6.0 grams.
