1.65ct OLD EUROPEAN CUT BLUE DIAMOND SOLITAIRE ring PLATINUM NATURAL DIAMONDS

This is an estate Circa 1920’s Vintage/Antique 1.65ctw Old European Cut Natural Blue Diamond Solitaire Fancy ring in solid Platinum. This is quite a Rare thing to find an old european cut blue diamond. The ring is in great condition stamped IRID-PLAT and 1>220 (see pics). Im not sure what the 1>220 stands for but perhaps it may be a production or style number. The ring looks as though it was hardly worn. The ring measures 7/16inch wide N-S on top by 3/4inch design coverage L-R. It has fancy goldwork on the top, shoulders and gallery of the ring (see pics). Set in the center is a round old European cut natural blue diamond solitaire that measures approx. 7.08mm and weighs about 1.30ct. It is a bright diamond with about I1 clarity and a fancy deep blue color. It has sparkle, brilliance and shine, not cloudy. It is a natural earth mined diamond that has been irradiated to achieve its blue color. It is also an authentic old european cut diamond. Bezel set on each side is a baguette cut natural diamond that measure approx. 3.5mmX1.6mm each and weigh about 1/10ctw for both. Then bead set are a total of 12 old single cut natural diamonds that measure approx. 1.4mm each and weigh about .15ctw for all 12 diamonds combined. All the white diamonds are bright with about VS1-SI1 clarity and about F-G-H color. They have sparkle, brilliance and shine, not cloudy. There are also 2 (4 total) fancy cut blue sapphires channel set on each side that measure approx. 2.4mmX1.1mm each and weigh about 1/10ctw for all 4 combined. Im not sure if the sapphires are natural or lab created. This is a Gorgeous feminine elegant design vintage/antique ring from about the 1920’s. It looks Stunning on the hand. VS1 – VS2 (Very Slightly Included) Only looking through a 10X loupe can pinpoint the inclusions in this category and are nearly impossible to see with the naked eye. These are less expensive than the VVS1 or VVS2 grades. SI1 – SI2 (Slightly Included) Diamonds with inclusions easily identified under 10x magnification. Finding flaws in this category with the naked eye is difficult. The gems in this category maintain their integrity, depending on the location of the inclusions. I1 – I3 (Included) Diamonds with inclusions which may or may not be easily seen by the naked eye. The flaws on the stones in this category will have some effect on the brilliance of your diamond. The cut of a diamond can make it appear larger or smaller than its actual weight. One carat is the equivalent of 200 milligrams. One carat can be divided into 100 “points”. A .75 carat diamond is the same as 75 points or a 3/4 carat diamond. Since larger diamonds are rarer than smaller diamonds, the value rises exponentially with carat weight.
