The domed shaped setting is beautiful with an elaborate hand-carved floral design in platinum, which upsweeps to the main focal point of a 0.30 sparkling brilliant cut diamond. Antique Art Deco 1930’s 14k Two Tone Gold 3 Stone Diamond Ring

Thank you for viewing this beautiful antique Art Deco 1930’s 14k two tone gold 3 stone diamond ring. The ring contains 3 old European cut diamonds weighting approximately .45 carats. The diamonds are an average quality of G color and SI clarity. The ring size is 6.25. The weight of the ring is 2.5 grams. The ring comes with an attractive gift box. An important thing to mention regarding condition descriptions of antique and vintage jewelry is its judgement criteria which is very different than that applied to modern jewelry. The expectation for modern jewelry classified as being in “excellent’ condition is an item that is possibly high polished and in close to new condition. Antique and vintage jewelry is never supposed to be polished. In fact, polishing antique jewelry can actually diminish its value and appeal. Therefore, patina, mild surface scratches, bruises, nicks and other indications of age can, and depending on the degree, should be present in antique jewelry classified as being in excellent condition. The more important condition factors to consider in antique jewelry is the integrity of the its structure and its design features such as migraine, setting work, engraving, filigree work, etc. If a new look with an antique design is what you’re looking for, reproduction jewelry might be an option worth considering. Most jewelry’s gold content is tested through acid analysis. This analysis is useful in determining substantial differences in gold content between, for example, 10k, 14k and 18k. However less substantial differences like a difference between 14k and 13k, can be harder to distinguish. Often times, antique and vintage jewelry can have these small variations in gold content. If a ring is stamped 14k, it could actually be 13k. Various factors can account for this. Among them being repairs or sizings performed through the years. Assume all antique and vintage jewelry might have these small differences in gold content. I believe the industry consensus is that such a small difference has little to no influence on the value of the item, especially if the item doesn’t have significant amounts of gold.
